The latest set of instructions are posted at the top; the older sets are pushed to the bottom of the page. Pay close attention to the date range for each set of lessons and activities.

May 18 - 27 Final Review & Final Exam

1.Final Exam

  • Per MISD policy this semester, I will use your Final Exam gradeif & only ifit helps your course average.
  • Our exam will be atotal of 12 questionscovering each of these topics from the 2nd semester: Polygons & Quadrilaterals, Similar Polygons, Square Roots & Right Triangles, Trigonometry, Area & Perimeter, Surface Area & Volume.
  • Yes, you may use your formulas, notes, & review during the exam.
  • You may take the Geometry Final Exam anytime during this timeframe:
    • Open at 8:00 am on May 18.
    • Close at 11:59 pm on May 27!
    • Let me know if you need to extend your time to May 28. I must turn in grades by the end of the day on May 28.

2. "Should I take the Exam or not?"

  • Check your grades onSkyward.
  • Do you have any missing grades or zeroes?
    • If yes, then you can still work on any of those assignments in Canvas & Delta Math.When you finish any late work, send me an email with your name & and assignment name so that I can transfer your grade to Skyward.
    • If no, yay!
  • Does each of your assignment grades in Delta Math and Canvas match the grades in Skyward?
    • If yes, yay!
    • If no, then send me an email to let me know if there are any mistakes or if you have any questions. Please be specific and include details.
  • Are you passing the 6th grading cycle & the semester?
    • If yes, yay! You do not have to take the exam unless your parents/guardian say you have to.
    • If not passing, do you have any assignments to submit? Turning these in will probably bring you up to passing.
    • Also, if not passing, plan to take the Review & Final Exam to raise your grade.

3. Review for the Final Exam

  • You must do the review if you plan on taking the exam.

    • You do not have to print this review.
    • You may do the work on a separate sheet of paper. Or, you may use a free app on your iPad to write on this pdf electronically. (app suggestions: MetaMoji Note, Notability, & GoodNotes)
    • Remember that our old notes are posted on ourClass Website in Geometry Topics(Links to an external site.).

  • You do not have to submit your review. This is for you to do & check in order to prepare for the exam.

May 11 - 15 Composite Figures

1.Resources:​

  • Description: Acomposite figureis ashapecomposed of a combination of other basic shapes. To calculate their total area, we willsplit the composite figure into their basic shapes and use those area formulas.
  • Look over your formulas from the prior Modules. We will use a combination of these formulas to calculate the perimeter and area of composite figures. Note that if it is a half-circle, then you will need to divide area or the circumference of the circle by 2.These formulas are in your notes from the Modules on April 13, April 20, April 27, & May 4.
  • Watchsupplementalvideos and practice questions on Khan Academy. This part is on an "as needed" basis.(Watch, forward, pause, replay the video clips as you need to for your info.)

2. Completethis optional assignment onDelta Math.You do not have to submit anything in Canvas (or by email) this week.

3. Do you have any missing assignments between April 13 & now? If so, you can keep working on those missing grades.Please check your grades in Skyward.

4. Beginning on Wednesday, May 13, you may start theReview for the Final Exam. This is required only if you plan on taking the Final Exam.

5.The Final Exam is optional. Per MISD policy this semester, I will only use your Exam grade if it helps your course average. You may take the Geometry Final Exam anytime during this timeframe: May 16 - May 26.

May 4 - 8 Circles and Spheres

April 27 - May 1 Three-dimensional Figures

1. Resources: Surface Area and Volume of Pyramids & Cones

  • Look over Classroom notes:
  • Watch supplemental videos and practice questions on Khan Academy. This part is on an "as needed" basis. (Watch, forward, pause, replay the video clips as you need to for your info.)

2. Take notes for yourself. (This is what you will submit in item 3.)

1. Make sure items you have completed last week's lessons and assignments in the Trigonometry Module.

April 3 - April 9: Make-up Quiz/Test (from before Spring Break)

1. Go to Skyward to check on the following Geometry grades.

  • Quiz grade from 2/28 or 3/4
  • Test grade from 3/5 or 3/6
  • If both grades are passing, then you do not need this Module.
  • If either one of the grades are missing or below a 70, then proceed to the next steps in this Module.

2. This is only for the following students:

  • those who were absent & missed the quiz,
  • those who were absent & missed the test ,
  • those whose test grade is below a 70 & need to raise the grade to a 70

3. Optional Review

  • Check your answers here.

4. Assignment: Due Thursday evening

  • Go to Delta Math.
  • Log in with your student account.
  • Complete the makeup Quiz or makeup Test that you need to take.

March 30 - April 4: Finding Sides and Angles

2. Go to Khan Academy.

  • Watch the video tutorials on Finding Sides.
  • Do the practice questions.

3. Assignment due Saturday evening

  • Log into your account at Delta Math.
  • Complete assignment on Finding Sides.

4. Make sure to give yourself a break.

5. Look over Classroom Notes on Finding Angle Measures.

6. Go to Khan Academy.

  • Watch the video tutorials on Finding Angles.
  • Do the practice questions.

7. Assignment due Saturday evening

  • Log into your account at Delta Math.
  • Complete assignment on Finding Angles.

March 30 - April 1: Introduction to Trigonometry

1. Look over our Classroom Notes on Trigonometric Ratios

2. Go to Khan Academy.

  • Watch the video tutorials on Intro to Trigonometry
  • Do the practice questions.

3. Assignment: Due Wednesday evening

  • Go to Delta Math. Select Create Account, then Student.
  • Type in my teacher code to join our class: 421901
  • Fill out the rest of the information. You choose your own password.
  • Remember this log-in info.
  • Complete assignment on Trig Ratios.
