FlexiSpot E7 Plus Standing Desk Review - Reach New Heights At Work (2024)

Highlights

  • The FlexiSpot E7 Plus Standing Desk is a game-changer for those tired of cheap desks that don't last.
  • Easy assembly and intuitive controls make this desk a joy to use.
  • With a sturdy build and plenty of customization options, the FlexiSpot desk is a fantastic upgrade.

I didn’t think it was possible to fall in love with a desk. Every desk I’ve owned was either too small or made of cheap materials, and I outgrew them quickly. I needed a desk that could move with me – preferably a standing desk so that I didn’t have to sit all day.

The Flexispot E7 Plus Standing Desk is perfect for me. The sleek design boasts accessibility and adaptability, making it a godsend for my office space. I received the 60”x30” solid wood tabletop to accommodate my computer and drawing tablet. The frame itself is standardized and compatible with any tabletop, which is a nice touch.

The desk arrived in three boxes. The ones that held the frame were easily 50lbs, so I needed help bringing them in and setting them up in the office. The tabletop was lighter, but sturdy. You’ll definitely need two people to assemble it all.

The frame comes in two boxes while the tabletop ships separately in another box.

The parts are numbered and lettered in the manual, and it only took me and my partner about two hours to put it all together after moving everything out of our office. Everything fits together nicely, and there are pilot holes to show you were to go when assembling the frame.

Thankfully, the manual was easy to follow. The diagrams and instructions made it feel like we were assembling a giant Lego set, which made it much more enjoyable. It took a bit of work to align everything properly, but even a couple of beginners could do it with ease.

After a bit of confusion about where to drill in the tabletop, we were done. I couldn’t wait to test out the control pad to raise and lower the desk. The controls are easy to learn and master. The touch-sensitive buttons can save up to four different heights for easy use, which I played with to get the desired height for sitting and standing. Personally, I love the stand and sit icons that take the place of numbers three and four.

The keypad also has a USB charging port that comes in handy during long gaming sessions.

Of course, I raised the desk as high as it could go just out of curiosity. At a maximum height of 51.6 inches tall, it’s safe to say that this desk can accommodate even the tallest gamers comfortably. My inner child wants to keep the desk high and raise my chair so that I feel like a kid again, kicking my feet under the table, but that’s a matter for another day.

While we debated making a blanket fort out of the desk first, after my partner joked that it was tall enough to be a loft bed in a New York apartment, I started putting my setup back together. Thankfully, the desk came with a few cable management attachments, so I could keep the power cord for the table out of the way and organize the maze of cables that power my workstation.

The frame carries quite a lot of weight, capable of holding over 500lbs while stationary and moving over 400lbs. While my setup is nowhere near that hefty, it’s possible to sit on the desk while adjusting it, if you’re into that.

My Razer Iskur V2 gaming chair can fit comfortably underneath the desk at full height if I need to move things around.

FlexiSpot has a variety of options to customize your desk. The frame alone is $799.99, which is a good deal considering the range and customization. You can reasonably use the frame with any tabletop, and FlexiSpot has numerous sizes and shapes to choose from.

I absolutely adore my new workspace and the sleek look it has. Playing games for hours on end leaves me restless, and being able to raise the desk so I can stand and stretch my legs is invaluable.

The company’s commitment to eco-friendly options is also a plus, as sustainable gaming is a priority for me. If it weren’t for previous experiences with chipboard desks from other brands going poorly, the eco-conscious option from Flexispot would have been my first choice.

The sustainable chipboard option is a great choice for eco-conscious gamers looking to save a bit of money, but I wanted to try a solid wood tabletop.

I’d highly recommend the FlexiSpot E7 Plus Standing Desk to anyone looking to shake things up. It’s easy to operate and looks great. The cost is an investment, but if you work from home or game often, it’s worth it for the luxury and comfort of having a durable setup that transitions from sitting to standing within seconds. There are also accessories like a working treadmill that fit under the desk – which is appealing – as well as a keyboard tray, monitor stand, and wheels that can be used to adjust the desk to suit your needs.

If you haven’t found the perfect desk for you yet (and have $800 to spare), try out the FlexiSpot E7 Plus Standing Desk. It takes your work to new heights and allows you the flexibility to work as you move around your office. As a restless gamer, this desk is everything I need to stay engaged and mobile throughout the day.
